Intensive-In-Home Services (IIH)
The Intensive In-Home program is managed by a licensed clinical therapist who oversees a team of three professionals dedicated to delivering person-centered and family-oriented treatment. This program specifically targets children and adolescents at risk of being placed outside their homes or those requiring stabilization within their family environment and/or in a designated setting. The team involvement aims to equip caregivers with effective parenting skills that help maintain or stabilize the child or adolescent's well-being. The approach incorporates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques and interventions to foster positive outcomes.
Goals of Intensive In-Home Services

Certified Peer Support Specialist Services
At Ethos, we provide peer support services delivered by staff members who are Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS). A Peer Support Specialist is a mental health professional who has personally experienced recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder. They offer non-clinical assistance to individuals facing similar issues, utilizing their own journeys to inspire hope and encourage recovery. These specialists are equipped with training to provide support, guidance, and motivation to those striving to achieve or maintain their recovery.
Goals of Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)

Substance Abuse Treatment
SACOT – Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Therapy
- SACOT most commonly refers to Substance Abuse Comprehensive Outpatient Treatment.
- It's a type of treatment program designed to help individuals overcome substance abuse and co-occurring mental health issue.
- The group meets 5 days per week, 4 hours daily and a light lunch will be provided.
- It includes individual, group, and family counseling.
- Introduction to relapse prevention strategies.
- Life skills training.
- Crisis contingency planning.
- Disease management education.
- Biochemical assays (e.g., urine drug screens).
- Other therapies like art therapy, music therapy, meditation, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) could also be implemented.

SAIOP – Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program

- It provides intensive therapeutic support while allowing individuals to maintain their daily routines.
- The group meets 3 days per week for 3 hours.
- It is a form of outpatient care that offers more structure and clinical oversight than traditional outpatient programs, but with more flexibility than residential or inpatient treatment.
- Comprehensive Support for SAIOP includes individual and group counseling, family counseling, drug testing, relapse prevention strategies, life skills training, and crisis intervention.
Goals of SAIOP Treatment
- Achieving abstinence from addictive substances is the primary objective, while secondary goals encompass sustained improvements in overall health and the cultivation of meaningful relationships with family and friends.
- Learning skills to enhance their ability to secure and maintain employment
- Developing skills for emotional regulation to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. Ultimately, these efforts aim to reduce the likelihood of future relapse.

Outpatient Treatment
- Individual Mental Health Counseling: Individual therapy is a one-on-one form of psychotherapy where a person meets with a licensed mental health professional to address personal challenges, develop coping strategies, and work towards mental well-being.
- Family Counseling: It focuses on improving relationships and communication patterns within a family unit. It helps families address issues such as mental health conditions, relationship conflicts, and behavioral problems by examining the family as a system of interconnected individuals.
- Substance Abuse Individual Counseling: This service provides one-on-one counseling focused on helping individuals understand and address substance use behaviors. Sessions are tailored to support recovery by identifying triggers, developing healthy coping strategies, setting achievable goals, and preventing relapse. Counseling may also address co-occurring mental health concerns and support long-term sobriety and personal stability.
Goals of Outpatient Treatment
The goal is to foster healthier interactions and dynamics among family members or family counseling is available at the discretion of the client.
The focus on learning coping skills to assist with recovery from illicit substances. Includes psycho-educational groups and skill-building exercises.
Medication Management Services
- Med clinic prescribes Suboxone, Vivitrol, and Psychiatric medications
- Days/Times for the clinic vary
Med Clinic Process/Information
- Client will need to complete an assessment.
- Assessor will then complete a referral form and get it to the Liaison for Med Clinic.
- Client will be seen weekly or monthly to be determined by provider.
- Once he/she is stabilized, the frequency will change.
- He/she will be seen by a medical provider or a physician’s assistant who is licensed in the State of NC.
- Accepts NC Medicaid and commercial insurance.
- Drug screening is mandatory and will also be taken randomly.
- MAT medications, including Suboxone and Subutex, are accessible; however, the decision rests with the medical provider's discretion on whether you are suitable for the program.
It is important to understand that if medication services are provided through Ethos Services, clients are prohibited from seeking medication from other providers. Should clients choose to engage in services, it is mandatory to complete a consent form to ensure effective communication between the providers. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in the client immediate termination from the program.
