I am Benny Locklear Jr., MSW, LCAS, LCSWA, the Owner and CEO of Ethos Services. My journey into mental health and substance use work is rooted in a deep belief that healing is possible for everyone when they are met with compassion, dignity, and understanding. I have dedicated my career to serving individuals and families who often feel unheard, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to turn.

As a clinician, I have witnessed firsthand the strength it takes to ask for help and the courage it takes to change. Those experiences have shaped my commitment to client-centered, ethical care that honors each person’s story, culture, and lived experience. I believe meaningful progress happens when people feel safe, respected, and empowered to take ownership of their healing.

As a leader, my heart is in building a space where both clients and clinicians feel supported, valued, and inspired. I am passionate about developing strong teams, encouraging growth, and leading with transparency, accountability, and empathy. Through Ethos Services, my goal is not only to provide quality behavioral health care, but to create a community rooted in hope, healing, and lasting transformation. I remain committed to walking alongside others on their journey toward recovery, purpose, and a healthier future.

Arlene Blake Govan, MA, LCMHC, LCASA, NCC, MPA ,Intensive In-Home Team Lead

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCASA) in North Carolina, as well as a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC. In my role as a clinical supervisor at Ethos Services, I oversee the Intensive-In-Home team and mentor interns and professionals, equipping them with the skills to support a diverse range of clients. My focus is primarily on children and families dealing with issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional regulation. I adopt a collaborative approach, valuing the therapeutic relationship and recognizing that clients are the experts of their own experiences. My goal is to create a compassionate and empowering environment where clients feel understood. By employing techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and person-centered therapy, I customize sessions to address the unique needs of each client and family, providing them with the tools to move forward confidently. Therapy with me is about fostering growth, insight, and the ability to thrive. Beyond my professional life, I cherish the simple joys, whether it’s attending church or spending time with family (husband/children), boxing, cooking, or engaging in activities with my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, or Top Ladies of Distinction. I’m excited to join you on this journey where therapy goes beyond just addressing challenges—it’s about personal growth, gaining insights, and discovering how to truly thrive in your authentic self.

From a young age, I have been fascinated by human emotions and how individuals navigate life’s challenges. I was taught the importance of resilience—not just as a response to challenges, but as a means of self-advocacy and authenticity. These lessons have shaped my career, guiding me in helping others discover their best selves. I firmly believe that self-advocacy is the foundation for a life rich in authenticity, motivation, and fulfillment.
